Rich McKeegan is a man of huge heart and vision. He first helped fundraise for Newtown charities in the aftermath of 12/14, designing a patch worn by Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioners across the country. This weekend, months of his hard work paid off as the Bushido Jiu-Jitsu Academy in Manchester, CT hosted the first annual Blackbelts for Butterflies BJJ seminar to benefit Dylan's Wings of Change.

This three day event brought together an awesome line up of instructors from as far as Seattle and Houston to share their knowledge. We are indebted to Rich for making this happen. We thank all the black belts that gave their time so willingly and the owners of the Academy for hosting the event.

Five teams of runners entered the Cape Cod Ragnar Relay race, all wearing purple in honor of Dylan. As well as raising a phenomenal $60,000 for Dylan's Wings of Change these awesome people created amazing stories. Some had barely run a 5K race before, yet conquered over 12 miles. Husbands and wives ran together to find the strength to finish. Teammates shouldered extra miles when injuries forced their friends off the road. A whole team was themed on Austin Powers. It was epic, overwhelming and beautiful.

We thank each and every one of these rock stars for their endeavor, and their family and friends for supporting them and raising money for the Foundation’s programs. We are already looking forward to Cape Cod 2015!
