Two of the Wingman Founding schools were in the news these past two weeks.
City Hill Middle School in Naugatuck held their latest "Wingman Wednesday" on April 27th and this time focused on the true meaning of kindness. In addition to completing their Wingman activities, some students also decorated rocks in memory of Mr. Henry Kuczenski, the City Hill security officer who passed away suddenly just two weeks before. The finished rocks were presented to Mr. Kuczenski’s family. The Wingman activity day was covered by Kent Pierce of News8. You can watch his story and read more on WTNH.com
New Fairfield Middle School held their third and final Wingman Takeover on May 6th, where the whole day was devoted to a series of experiential activities, discussions and videos focused around five themes; Perseverance, Risk-Taking, Gossip, Trust and Empathy. The students were excited by the visit of United States Senator Chris Murphy who toured the school reviewing the program and met with the student leadership team, learning in detail how they have embraced Wingman at New Fairfield.
